Hanna received a certificate in Landscape Design and a certificate in Ornamental Horticulture from the New York Botanical Garden where she now lectures on rooftop design, green walls and green roofs.  She is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers and MetroHort Group in New York City.

Before deciding to practice independently, Hanna worked for nearly a decade as a Senior Landscape Designer at Town and Gardens, Ltd. in New York City where she gained extensive experience designing and installing gardens in New York City.

Susan Cohen, an award-winning landscape architect, is known for her simple and elegant residential designs. She also designed two exhibition gardens for The New York Botanical Garden: The Japanese Autumn Garden and Sculptures from the Museum of Modern Art. In addition to her professional office in Greenwich, Connecticut, Cohen is a teacher and lecturer, and she coordinates both the Landscape Design Program at The New York Botanical Garden and their annual Landscape Design Portfolio Series, in which prominent landscape architects discuss their work. Her book, The Inspired Landscape (Timber Press, 2015), explores the creative process of twenty-one landscape architects from throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
