Meredith Ellis has been immersed in the world of Interior Design since the day she was born. A native Texan and daughter of an Interior Designer, Meredith studied abroad in Florence, Italy and graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Art History. She began her own design career in New York City when she was offered the incredible experience of working for the renowned Bunny Williams. After 5 years in New York, Meredith moved to Los Angeles where she furthered her knowledge and gained new perspectives while working as a Senior Designer for both Thomas Beeton and Michael Smith. After more than 10 years honing her skills with some of the nation’s best, Meredith founded her own firm in Los Angeles in 2008. Family drew Meredith back to Texas, where she expanded her business in Austin while maintaining projects in California. Travel is one of her biggest inspirations, and Meredith enjoys working on projects in different locations as each place holds something unique that can accentuate the home. Meredith prides herself in designing homes that are always fresh, creative and exhibit a touch of the unexpected. She skillfully layers materials, patterns, textures and colors, while keeping the home classic and livable. She accounts for every detail along the way. She believes each element plays into the final product … a beautiful, livable home that accurately reflects the client. In May of 2015, Meredith will expand her business in Austin by opening “James,” a boutique design showroom that will bring some of her favorite fabric lines and resources to Central and South Texas, as well as a curated mix of art, antiques and vintage textiles.
